Cockpit heat problem

I noticed the cockpit of my 2017 Can-Am Commander 800R gets excessively hot. I'm thinking of installing a roof vent to address this problem. Has anyone here done the same? For those who experienced the same issue, what tricks worked best?

Roof vents will do wonders to get the hot air out, so go for it, you won't regret it. My recommendation is to go for something that's durable and sealed properly, especially if you're doing some serious offroading

I agree with about the roof vent! I haven't done that mod specifically on a Commander myself, but my friend did and he enjoys having them in their UTV.

Also, @thatATVrider, pull your center console and check for gaps around the firewall and under the seats. I discovered a couple spots bleeding engine heat straight into the cab but heat reflective tape and foam should do it just fine

I had a similar problem with my old Pioneer 700, it would get ridiculously hot in the cab during the summer. I ended up adding a couple of small marine vents on the roof, and that really helped cool things down. I also discovered a gap under the console that was letting engine heat in, so I filled it with some heat-resistant foam and tape. With both fixes, it stayed a lot more comfortable. It's definitely a good idea to look for those sneaky gaps
